Chimney Swift Nest

We reinforced the raccoon guard on the chimney this afternoon. While up there we checked on the nest and saw 4 eggs.

Eastern Meadowlark

Saw an Eastern Meadowlark at the NCMA park singing from the top of a pine tree.

 Galax (Galax urceolata) are blooming right now at Hemlock Bluffs.

Everything Blooms At Once This Spring

Tufted Titmice in 2 nest boxes

We have titmice with chickens in nest box 2 and nest box 4 (the flying squirrel nest box). They are both furiously feeding their peepers.

Yard Bird #80: Swainson’s Thrush

Saw a Swainson’s Thrush Sunday morning in the fence in the greenway/backyard. It was very quiet.
