Cleaned out about half of the leaves from the pond. The tadpoles are hibernating, hope they make it through the winter.

Chimney Swifts

The swifts did not return to the chimney tonight (9/28/13).

In other migrating news, last hummingbird was seen on 9/27.

Migrating Swifts 9/20/13

Saw a huge uncountable flock of Chimney Swifts going into a migration roost in downtown Raleigh last night.

In other swifts news, our chimney swifts are still coming back to roost in our chimney every night.

First Fall Migrant 8/26/2013

Had a very nice cold front come through Saturday (low Sunday night was 56) that brought the first wave of fall migrants to the area.

Saw an American Redstart in the front yard Monday Morning.

Frog Eggs

We had some rain on Saturday night and the frogs were busy. Noticed these eggs in the pond Sunday and took this picture today. The eggs will hatch Thursday.
