Dogwoods

The dogwoods are in full bloom now. Not as many flowers as last year, some trees have no flowers at all. The canopy is looking green, full leaf out is a few days away.

Nest box update

Tufted titmouse using nest box 1.

Nuthatches abandoned nest box 2 due to Blue birds, are now bringing nesting material to nest box 3.

No known use at nest box 4.

First spring blooms

Bluets (Houstonia caerulea) are in bloom in the front yard.

Bats

The bats are out this weekend. Saw bats both foraging in the open sky and in the understory of the greenway.

Nesting Nuthatches

A pair of Brown Headed Nuthatches are bringing nesting material to one of the nest boxes. First noticed on March 19th.
